Wedding Food at Streamcombe - Outdoor & Rustic
One of the best things about having your celebration at Streamcombe is the food!
All food is prepared on site, locally sourced and seasonal wherever possible. Your host, Ian, also runs Streamcombe Cookery School and has a wealth of experience and immense enthusiasm for the food prepared for you and your guests.
Please download our current Food Price List. Please be aware that this is updated regularly, and the list you print here is subject to change at any time. You will be provided with a fixed price at the time of booking your feast. We are very flexible, happy to work to a budget, and try to incorporate your own ideas wherever possible.
If you wish to supply your own alcohol, we will provide all the glasses, chilling and recycling services. There is a small corkage charge for this. Please refer to our Food & Drinks Price List.
The Hot & Hearty
The Wedding Ploughmans
The Streamcombe Woodfired Hog Roast
The Woodfired Hog is cooked from scratch on site. The fire is started at around 5 am and the pig roasts, turning slowly, for 10 - 12 hours. We then carve for your guests. Serve with salads and homemade bread for the All The Frills Hog, and take a seat in the marquee.
Alternatively, in simple rolls with apple sauce and crackling...No Frills and have later in the evening listening to the music.
Vintage High Tea
Perfect for the setting.... china teacups and linen napkins with freshly made sandwiches, scotch eggs, quiches, fairy cakes, scones & cream. Our staff will serve you tea and coffee, and ensure everyone gets their fair share of chocolate brownie!
Things you need to provide for the tables.....
Once you have reserved your date, and have an idea of guests that are coming and the food they may be eating, we will complete a detailed checklist for you.
The marquee is 12m x 12m in an L shape. It can seat 110 people comfortably in long banquet style tables.
The marquee with lighting, bunting and matting is included in the venue hire.
You will need to choose and hire tables, chairs and tablecloths separately, which are NOT included. Local hire details are available upon request, and we are happy to book and coordinate this for you.
Napkins, cutlery, plates and jugs of spring water with small glasses are provided for all guests with all sit down food orders.
Please provide your own table decorations. These may include table runners, candles and flower arrangements. Low heavy vases are best, to avoid a breeze catching hold of your efforts.
We are happy to supply table lay out ideas. Please ask.
We do not make wedding cakes, but are very happy for you to assemble your own on site, or help you with the delivery and storage if one is to be delivered.
Many couples now serve their cake as dessert. We can coordinate the cutting and serving of this for you, complete with china plates and the vintage cake knife seen below.
Below is a `naked wedding cake` built in-situ by a talented relative.
Simply stunning!..... complete with fresh cream, frosted, seasonal fruit and garden flowers.
An unusual wedding cake...we were asked to create a `cheesecake`.... Ian chose five west country cheeses that worked well in flavour, shape and size . It was served with biscuits in the evening as late night bites.
An Exmoor pig or lamb is ordered specially for you from Farthings Farm Shop -Dulverton, and needs 12 hours to roast over the wood fire. We start at 5 am for this. The fire pit can be used on the yard to keep guests warm in the evening.
The Breakfast Party...the morning after!
Bacon sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, pain au chocolate, fresh coffee and fruit juice. All very welcome , especially for your campers!
